Vibe coding meets discovery

I brought Product Build Day to Europe's biggest barcamp. About 100 people saw the talk across two days, and on Sunday we vibe-coded live on stage.

A barcamp where 600 people show up, pay nothing, and the whole thing runs on volunteers should not work as well as it does. UX Camp Europe does. I came to Berlin to pitch Product Build Day: a one-day hackathon for product people who don't write code, used for real discovery instead of another month of decks.

About 100 people saw the presentation across both days. The room was almost full before I even started on Saturday. My watch said 97 bpm right before I went up. I was calm, my heart rate had other opinions. The energy around vibe coding is real, and that is exactly the point of the talk. Your PM is already building with AI. The MVP got 99% cheaper and faster. Discovery is still stuck in 2016.

The reaction was the same all the way through: people were not asking if it works, they were asking how to run one next week. The barcamp lets a Saturday session go back on the board for Sunday, so I ran it a second time, to a second room, and this time we vibe-coded live against a hackathon challenge during the talk. It worked. On stage I told the room to follow three people: Lenny Rachitsky on product, Jenny Lindblad on pitching, and Paweł Huryn on AI PM.

What the room took away

01

Your PM is already building with AI. The build got 99% cheaper. Discovery has to catch up.

02

Nobody asked “does it work”. They asked “how do I run one next week”.

03

You can vibe-code live during a talk, and it lands.

What people said

“That was a super cool session!”
Robert Mitzenheim, Service & Process Designer, Diconium
“It was such an interesting session! Thanks again!”
Mathilde Olivari, Product Designer, ServiceHero

Thank you to the UX Camp Europe volunteers and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin for the room. See you next year.

The talk plants the seed. The build day is where people find out they can actually do it.
